Pretty straight forward right? But how often do you consider this truth?
Everything in front of you today is the effect of a cause, or a decision you’ve made. Of course there will always be things from time to time that happen that are truly ‘out of our control’, but they are the exception and not the rule.
Take a moment and consider the decisions you’ve made so far today that have led you to this current moment. Next think about your results yesterday, and the decisions that led to those results.
It is pretty phenomenal when you slow down enough to peer into your life at this level. Every effect has a cause!
I’ve heard people say ‘everything happens for a reason’. I agree completely. However not from the position that the reason is always out of our control or responsibility. This line of thinking can quickly become a stumbling block to achieving greater personal accountability.
Many people live in this state, avoiding responsibility and calling it ‘fate’. Is it really possible that the outcomes in our lives are determined by good ole’ fate?
My experience has taught me quite the opposite. I often think about the principle of sowing and reaping. I’m sure most are familiar with the scripture that states, ‘a man reaps what he sows.”
I think it is worth considering what is being sown into your life through the decisions you are making.
Tomorrow depends on it.
Have a great day!
